Legal document · Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms govern the use of Suviard: the mobile app, the web portal and the associated services. By creating an account or using the app, you accept what is explained here. If something doesn't suit you, don't use the service.

1. Who provides the service

The owner of Suviard is Miguel Ángel Martín Martínez, with NIF (tax ID) 75932512J and address at Calle Párroco José Rodríguez, 33 · 18014 Granada (Spain). You can write to [email protected] about any matter relating to these terms.

2. What Suviard is

Suviard is a mountain social network. It lets you record routes with GPS, save and discover routes, download maps to use without signal (with Premium), join clubs, organise meetups and share activity with other people.

The service is provided "as is". We may add, change or withdraw features, and if a change significantly affects a paid feature, we will let you know before it takes effect.

3. Your account

To use most features you need an account. You must be at least 14 years old and provide truthful information. You are responsible for the activity carried out from your account and for keeping your credentials safe.

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. Deletion is permanent: your personal data and associated content are deleted, except for what we are legally required to keep.

4. How you must use it

You may not:

  • Publish content that is illegal or offensive, that harasses other people or that infringes the rights of third parties.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Upload falsified or manipulated activities to alter leaderboards.
  • Extract data by automated means, or access the service by means other than the app and the portal.
  • Interfere with the operation of the service or try to access other people's accounts.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. Where the breach is minor and can be remedied, we will try to warn you first.

5. Your content

The routes, photos, comments and other content you publish remain yours. By publishing them, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display and distribute them within the service, for the sole purpose of making it work.

That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other people have saved or backup copies, which are purged in their usual cycles.

6. Mountains, safety and liability

Suviard is a tool for recording and looking things up, not a safety guide or an emergency system.

  • Routes are published by the users themselves. We do not check their accuracy, their real difficulty, the condition of the terrain or whether they are passable or legal at the time you look them up.
  • GPS, distance, elevation gain and duration data are estimates and may contain errors caused by the device, signal coverage or environmental conditions.
  • Maps downloaded for offline use may be out of date with respect to the terrain.
  • The decision to undertake an activity, with what gear and in what conditions, is always yours. Consider the weather, your fitness and your experience, and tell someone about your plan.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from activities in the natural environment or from decisions taken on the basis of information published by third parties on the service. Nothing in the above excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

7. Events and meetups between users

An event is a proposal published by a user — the organiser — to do a route as a group on a given date, at a given time and from a given meeting point, which other users can sign up for. They are private initiatives between individuals, free of charge and non-profit.

What Suviard does and doesn't do. Suviard only provides the tool for publishing events and signing up for them. It does not organise, guide, accompany or supervise users' meetups, nor does it check the experience or qualifications of the organiser, the condition of the routes or the accuracy of what is published. The fact that an event is published does not mean that we have reviewed it or that we recommend it.

If you organise an event, you undertake to:

  • Not charge any price or ask for anything in return. At most, the actual cost of travel may be shared.
  • Not offer professional guiding, instructor or adventure tourism services through events.
  • Describe the route truthfully: level, distance, elevation gain and meeting point.
  • Check the weather forecast and warnings, and cancel or change the outing if it isn't sensible to go ahead, letting those who have signed up know.
  • Not accept minors who are not accompanied by their mother, father or guardian.
  • Comply with the rules of natural areas, including any permits they require for groups.

If you sign up for an event, you take part at your own risk. The mountains carry risks that cannot be eliminated entirely: you decide whether your fitness, experience, health and equipment are suitable for the route, you carry your own gear and you are responsible for your decisions. Unless stated otherwise, the organiser is not a professional guide. We recommend accident insurance that covers rescue, such as a mountain federation licence: some Spanish autonomous communities charge for rescues.

Notice and record. Before you publish an event or sign up for one, the app and the portal show you a notice that you must accept. We keep a record of that acceptance (your user, the event, the date and the version of the notice) so that we can prove it if necessary. If you delete your account, it is no longer associated with your personal data, like the rest of your activity.

Moderation. We may hide or remove events that break these rules and suspend the accounts that do so. If you see an event that breaks them, write to us at [email protected].

In the event of an accident, call 112: neither the app nor the portal replaces the emergency services. Nothing in this section limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, in particular liability arising from wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

8. Premium subscriptions

Suviard is free. Premium is optional and includes offline maps and other features. It is offered in two durations: monthly (1 month) and annual (1 year), with automatic renewal.

  • Price. It is always shown within the app, in your currency and including your country's taxes, before you confirm the purchase.
  • Billing. It is handled by the store you buy from (App Store or Google Play), not by us. The charge is applied when you confirm and, after that, at the start of each period.
  • Renewal. It is automatic unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancellation. From your Apple account or Google Play settings. When you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period already paid for.
  • Refunds. They are processed by the store in accordance with its own terms. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made within the app.

On Google Play there may also be a one-time payment option with no renewal: when you choose it, the app states this expressly and access expires at the end of the period purchased.

9. Credits

Credits are an internal currency that is bought within the app and used for specific features of the service. They are not money, do not earn interest, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred between accounts. They are used up when you spend them and do not expire while your account remains active.

10. Physical product shop

Physical products from the shop are bought on the web portal, not within the app, and are governed by their own terms of sale, shipping and withdrawal. As a consumer, you have 14 calendar days to withdraw from the purchase of a physical product, under the terms provided for in Spanish and European consumer legislation.

11. Availability of the service

We work to keep Suviard available continuously, but we cannot guarantee that there will be no interruptions, maintenance windows or incidents beyond our control. When downtime is scheduled, we will try to give advance notice.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the change is significant, we will let you know through the app or by email reasonably in advance. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version. This is version 1.1, dated 28 September 2026.

13. Applicable law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence and you keep all the rights that consumer legislation grants you.

Before going to court, you can write to us at [email protected]: most things get sorted out that way.

14. Related documents

These terms are supplemented by the legal notice, the privacy policy and the cookie policy. To exercise your rights over your data, use the rights form.
